Job Description:

Williams Mullen is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Litigation associate with 3-5 years’ experience to join our successful Litigation group in our Richmond, VA or Tysons, VA office. This is an excellent opportunity for an associate with an entrepreneurial spirit seeking a positive career trajectory, significant responsibility on complex matters, and a chance to work closely with senior partners on a fast-paced team. Candidates should be comfortable with significant direct client interaction.

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience managing a case load from inception through to trial and litigation experience in State and/or Federal Court including deposition, drafting motions, discovery requests, and trial preparation and support.
  • Knowledge or experience with economics, marketplace trends, business strategy or other business acumen.
  • Ideal candidates will demonstrate aptitude to strategically plan; strong negotiations skills; excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time well and to work independently often.
  • Must have the ability to build credibility and have resilience to find creative solutions to complex needs.
  • Superior academic credentials and entrepreneurial spirit highly preferred.
  • Must be meticulous with details and be able to both work effectively as part of a team, while also being able to assume individual responsibility for client matters involving direct client interaction.
  • Strong writing credentials and excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
  • Judicial clerks strongly preferred.
  • Candidates must be currently licensed in Virginia, or a member of the bar in one or more US Jurisdictions and willing to sit for VA bar within 12 months of hire.
