Cozen O'Connor is currently searching for experienced paralegals with 5+ years of experience working in a plaintiff-oriented practice to support attorneys in the Subrogation Department. The paralegal can be located within commuting distance to any of the Firm’s 30+ offices. Candidate will have proven civil litigation experience with knowledge/experience of state and federal courts, rules of civil procedure and e-filing. The candidate should be detail oriented, able to work independently, and possess excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills. Candidate must have the motivation and skill to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and have proven computer/technology skills. The firm is offering a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office, 2 days remote for all paralegals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and summarize damages
  • Draft complaints, motions to compel and other discovery motions
  • Propound and respond to discovery
  • Case file management (create, organize, track and maintain files; monitor calendars and meeting deadlines; document actions; input information into file database and case management software).
  • Document management including but not limited to review of documents, bates labeling, organization of documents and compiling information for discovery responses/pleadings/motions.
  • Coordinate scene examinations, destructive testing and depositions
  • Review financial and business records and prepare chronologies
  • Preparing FOIA requests
  • Witness investigation
  • Trial and deposition preparation
  • E-filing in both state and federal courts

A four-year bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate required.

The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $100,000 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
