Insurance Coverage Associate

Kennedys, a global firm recently ranked as a Leading Firm in The Legal 500 US 2022, has multiple openings for Mid-Level Associates or Senior Counsel to join its growing Austin and Houston offices. Remote and hybrid candidates with the right experience will be considered. In this role, the attorney will primarily represent insurance companies in coverage litigation but may also be involved in defense litigation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global law firm expanding its capabilities in Texas.

The ideal candidate will have experience with diverse types of insurance coverage, such as: excess and surplus lines, general liability, construction defect, D&O, environmental, personal and advertising injury claims in Texas. General civil defense litigation experience will also be considered. Please submit writing samples along with your resume.

Required experience

• At least three years of litigation experience.
• Must be licensed to practice in Texas. License in Louisiana a plus.
• Superior research writing and communication skills
• Familiarity with general defense litigation is a plus
• Practical case management experience in federal court is preferred
• Ability to draft pleadings, discovery, and motions; take and defend depositions and attend court appearances
• Arbitration and trial experience is beneficial
