The Chicago office of McGuireWoods seeks an Associate for the Labor & Employment Department. McGuireWoods’ clients include local, national and multinational employers ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses and nonprofits. With more than 70 lawyers in the United States and Europe, our labor and employment team handles upwards of 4,000 employment-related matters each year. We counsel employers in every aspect of the employer/employee relationship, including federal, state and international law compliance; traditional labor issues; internal investigations; federal contracting; and executive compensation. Recognition by Chambers USA in recent years for our labor and employment regional practices, including North Carolina and Virginia, plus nearly a dozen rankings for individual attorneys.

• Qualified candidates will have 2-4 years of labor and employment law or commercial litigation experience.
• We are seeking candidates with a strong academic background and the ability to demonstrate top-notch legal research, analysis and writing abilities.
• Candidates should have experience litigating either employment, civil rights, or commercial matters in both state and federal courts.
• Experience with state and federal wage & hour and employment laws is preferred.
• Candidates licensed outside of Illinois will be required to be admitted to the Illinois State Bar within one year of starting with us.
