Mid-Level Associate: Employment Law Counseling and Compliance

Epstein Becker & Green is seeking a mid-level associate in its growing national management-side Employment, Labor and Workforce Management practice. Prefer candidates that will be affiliated with the Firm's Los Angeles office, but will consider candidates affiliated with the Firm's San Francisco office. Candidates should have a minimum of four years of relevant experience in employment law counseling and compliance.. Relevant experience includes preparation of employment policies and agreements, counseling on employee relations issues such as discipline and termination, accommodation requests, and leaves of absence, and conducting workplace investigations. Anti-harassment and other employment training experience is preferred.

Ideal candidates will also have knowledge of federal and state labor & employment laws (e.g., wage and hour, trade secret law, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and similar state laws). Experience handling certain aspects of litigation such as interviewing witnesses, reviewing electronically stored documents, drafting pleadings and various motions and briefs, conducting and defending depositions, interacting with clients and opposing counsel, and attending court appearances is preferred, but not required.

Candidates must possess strong academic credentials and have excellent communication and writing skills. Juris Doctorate degree required. Admission to practice law in California is mandatory.

The expected salary range for this position is $215,000 - $290,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to the base salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
