1535 - Bankruptcy Attorney

The Tampa, Florida office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, has an opportunity for an exceptional attorney to join its bankruptcy practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 to 10 years of bankruptcy (including bankruptcy litigation) experience. The position requires the ability to manage complex case assignments, strong communication and writing skills, the ability to manage and communicate with clients on an ongoing basis. The successful candidate will also have strong analytical and research skills and be exceptionally organized. Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Florida is also required.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
• Florida bar license
• 4+ years’ bankruptcy law practice experience
• Strong technological skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and practice management systems, portals and technologies
• Superior research skills, including the use of online services, databases and the Internet
• Superior organizational skills
• Project management skills including a strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting position static for up to one-half hour at a time
• Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day
• Bending and stooping occasionally, up to one-half hour per day
