JOB DESCRIPTION

The NYC office of Alston & Bird is conducting a search for an Attorney Hiring Assistant to help facilitate the firms Summer Associate Program and On-Campus Recruiting Process. This is a temporary four-month position from May 1st through August 31st.

The role will be supervised by the Attorney Hiring Manager and the ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Summer Associate Program Responsibilities:

  • Assist with event planning by preparing invitations, maintaining RSVPs, creating nametags, and booking conference rooms.
  • Prepare orientation materials under the direction of the Human Resources and Attorney Hiring teams for distribution to the summer associates.
  • Collaborate with the Conference Services and Information Technology teams for internal events and trainings.
  • Collect work product evaluations and maintain the firms database used to track performance.
  • Attend onsite and offsite events as needed.

On-Campus Recruiting Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate with the firms hiring process by entering resumes into viRecruit, maintaining candidate files, scheduling callbacks, hosting virtual or in person interviews, booking conference rooms, and preparing offer/rejection letters.
  • Prepare OCI (On-Campus Interviewing) binders and assorted files for Hiring Committee meetings.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the Attorney Hiring Team dependent on business needs and volume.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Associate or Bachelors Degree is highly preferred. High School Diploma is required.
  • Prior administrative experience is necessary to be successful in this role. Law firm experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Canva, Outlook, Chrome River, Microsoft Suite, Zoom, iManage, and Adobe PDF.
  • Desire to learn new applications, firm systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively as part of a team while managing independent work.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and juggle competing deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work overtime to attend Summer Associate events.

PHYSICAL EFFORTS

  • Substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Standing, waking, and lifting.
  • Hearingability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Sitting most of the time.

The salary range for this position is an hourly rate between $29 and $32. This represents the firm's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at this time of posting. The role is non-exempt and eligible for additional overtime pay. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience and qualifications.
