Position Profile

Weaver is seeking an experienced Payroll Compliance Auditor to conduct audits of contributing employers on behalf of multi-employer benefit funds. The candidate will work alongside staff, managers, and partners, and will be provided with mentorship and ongoing feedback to promote learning and growth. This position is flexible and can be based in the New York City or Jericho, NY offices, as well as significant work-from-home flexibility. The position requires limited local travel to all five boroughs and the surrounding suburbs.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with client and employer personnel to obtain records and information pertinent to the audit process
  • Gain an understanding of fund operations, procedures, and needs
  • Analyze collective bargaining agreements and apply terms appropriately to audit procedures
  • Prepare audit workpapers; guide less experienced auditors in the preparation of their workpapers

Education and Skills

  • 1-2 years of audit experience in a public or private accounting setting, specifically in payroll compliance auditing. Equivalent experience with a benefit fund will also be considered
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or a related business field, or equivalent experience
  • Flexibility to travel to client locations, primarily in the tri-state area
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including excellent Excel skills
  • Experience using ProSystem Engagement a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills to allow for smooth and successful coordination with colleagues, clients, and employers
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Annual Base Pay Range in the New York City Metropolitan Area: $65,000 to $80,000
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
