Kean Miller is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Associate to work in our Houston or Woodlands office. This position can be Staff Attorney or Partnership Track depending on academics, credentials, and/or applicant’s desire.
Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of two years of experience in bankruptcy.
Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients across a wide variety of industries while finding practical solutions in distressed financial situations
  • Review client documents and advise clients on how to protect assets
  • Assist with case preparation, legal research, writing, briefing, courtroom support and presentation
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, notices, discovery requests, and responses, proofs of claims, etc.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with Trustees, Bankruptcy Courts, Local Counsel and Debtors’ Attorneys
  • Attend creditor meetings and other court hearings

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Critical thinker
  • Excellent business judgment and high-level professionalism

Candidates should have excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills and excellent references. Candidates must demonstrate the ability and the desire to interact with Kean Miller’s clients and to further develop client and referral relationships. The successful candidate should have a track record of high achievement, the desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment and the ability to work as part of a team.
